The launch of the Tata Nexon EV long-range will happen in April

Tata Motors is expected to introduce the long-range Nexon EV by April 2022 in the Indian market. As its name suggests, it will be able to travel longer per charge thanks to a larger battery pack.

Spotted undergoing on-road testing recently, the electric crossover is set to come with a 40 kWh battery pack as opposed to the current Nexon EV’s 30.2 kWh unit.

Thus, the car is expected to come with over 400 km of claimed range per charge, while the real world range should be above 300 km, a significant increase over the current model’s figure.

Due to the larger battery, the electric crossover’s boot space will be lesser. But, there are many positives including the fact that it will come with disc brakes on all ends, new wheels, selectable regen modes and Electronic Stability Program (ESP).

What’s more, Tata is expected to offer the Nexon EV long-range model with a 6.6 kW AC charger instead of the current model’s 3.3 kW AC charger in order to decrease the charging time despite the presence of a larger battery.

Upon launch, Tata Nexon EV long-range will be the flagship model in the electric crossover model range. It is expected to be priced around Rs. 18 lakhs (ex-showroom) and will be sold alongside the base model.
