The interior of the Tata Punch looks compact and modern

Tata Motors has revealed the interior of the Punch crossover through a short video and it is evident that many components have been carried over from the Altroz premium hatchback.

In the video, which shows the dashboard of the car from the second row, one can see the stepped dash with rectangular air vents that are painted in the same shade as the car’s exterior colour.

If looked closely, one can see that the contrasting white trim pieces on the dash and the door cards have the same detailing that is present on the seats. Also, the door pulls are chromed.

Although the layout of the dashboard looks new, there are some resemblances between the cockpits of the Altroz and the Punch.

After all, the Punch does borrow quite a few elements like the infotainment touchscreen, semi-digital instrument cluster, multifunctional steering wheel and switchgear from the premium hatchback.

Do note that Tata has revealed the interior of the Punch equipped with the AMT gearbox. The model is also equipped with automatic climate control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, cruise control, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, among other features.

It also has plentiful stowage, but, from the image, one cannot say if Tata will offer a central armrest for front passengers. Hopefully, the carmaker does.

To be launched soon, the Punch will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine (also expected to be offered in turbocharged form) and will come with a manual gearbox, apart from an AMT and will primarily rival the Maruti Ignis in the market.
