August 2020 2-Wheeler sales has seen the resurgence of the Honda Activa as it has gone back to the top once again, beating the Hero Splendor.

Honda has shifted 1.93 lakh units of its top-selling scooter and yet it faced year-over-year (YoY) degrowth to the tune of 17 percent. However, compared to July 2020, the numbers were much better.

In second and third place are Hero’s Splendor and HF Deluxe, both selling over 1.77 lakh units and both posting positive growth.

Fourth, fifth and sixth spots are occupied by the Honda CB Shine (1.06 lakh units), TVS XL Super (70,126) and Hero Super Splendor (54,490) and each posted more than 20 percent growth YoY.

Hero’s Glamour and Passion, TVS’ Jupiter and Bajaj Pulsar 125 complete the top ten and among them, the Glamour and Jupiter recorded negative growth of -11 percent and -9 percent respectively.

The vehicle to record top growth in August 2020 2-wheeler sales list is the Bajaj Pulsar 125 with 119 percent growth, having sold 43,493 times over within the period.

Following the Bajaj product in recording highest growth in the top 25 selling 2-wheelers list is the Honda Livo (18,980 units), which saw 90 percent growth and Yamaha Ray (15,620 units) that recorded 57 percent hike in sales.

Highest degrowth was recorded by the TVS NTorq at -22 percent, followed by the CT 100 (-18 percent) and the Activa (-17 percent).

Overall, the numbers witnessed in the August 2020 2-wheeler sales list is very positive given the current situation and it looks like the effects of COVID-19 are wearing off faster than anticipated.
