Compact SUV Sales June 2020
Vitara Brezza jumps back on top from its 4th position

June 2020 compact SUV sales are out with some repositioning. It is the third largest car segment in India. Compact SUVs contributed over 13 percent in June 2020. Cumulative sales stand at 15,393 for this segment which has seen 52 percent YoY decline. However, it is much better than May 2020’s 4139 unit sales.

Maruti Vitara Brezza is the top selling car in its segment with 4542 units and 49 percent degrowth. However, it has managed to come on top from May 2020’s 4th position.

Hyundai Venue comes a close second with 4129 units and 52 percent fall in YoY sales. It will be interesting to see the numbers once iMT version gets launched.

The Tata Nexon has come third scoring 3040 units and it is the least affected with 27 percent fall in sales. Mahindra XUV300 was leading the chart in May and is now in 4th position with 1812 units and 62 percent decline.

The Ford EcoSport comes 5th with 1212 units and 63 percent degrowth. Honda WR-V does 658 units with 48 percent fall in sales. The car has got a mild facelift with new features this month, which might churn out more volumes next month onwards.

Mahindra TUV300 didn’t have any sales in June. The facelifted version is yet to be launched. Kia is introducing the Sonet compact SUV before the festive season, which might add to the heat in this segment in the coming months.
