Compact SUV Sales October 2020
Two new entrants have increased segment sales by a healthy margin

Maruti Vitara Brezza leads compact SUV sales in October 2020, grabbing the spot from September leader the Kia Sonet.

However, the race is tight between the two products with the Vitara Brezza having sold 12,087 units in comparison with the Sonet’s 11,721 unit sales.

Hyundai’s Venue fetched 8828 unit sales with a small year-over-year (YoY) growth, followed by the Tata Nexon that had a decent haul of 6888 units.

The safest car made here, the Mahindra XUV300 had a good outing in the last month as shown by the October 2020 compact SUV sales and, in all, 4882 units of the car were driven home by customers.

The final three spots in the list are occupied by the Ford EcoSport with 4599 units, new entrant the Toyota Urban Cruiser (3006 units) and the Honda WR-V with 1100 units.

Except the last-placed model, all other cars did well and double digit growth was witnessed by the XUV300 (60 percent), Nexon (55 percent) and Vitara Brezza (18 percent).

As mentioned earlier, the Hyundai Venue saw a small three percent YoY growth. In similar fashion, the Ford EcoSport recorded a six percent growth over the same period last year.

Overall sales jumped by 66 percent YoY, thanks to two new model additions, recording over 53,000 units in the month, as opposed to just under 32,000 units in October last year.

With Diwali coming up in a few days’ time, sales will likely be even more this month. Let us see who takes the top spot in November 2020.
