Royal Enfield remains the brand to beat

Performance bike sales in January 2021 once again witnessed a major contribution from the Royal Enfield 650 twins, as they found 1392 buyers in the month combined.

Kawasaki’s Z900 came in a very distant second with 50 unit sales, followed by the Ninja 650, that lured in 39 buyers in January.

These are not the only products from Kawasaki to feature in the performance bike sales list, for the brand has 4 other motorcycles that made it to the top 10, as well.

Fourth-placed Tiger 900 from Triumph was ridden home by 26 people, while the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 was chosen by 21 buyers.

The Rocket 3 seems to have caught the attention of many a biker, for 20 units were sold in the month of January, which is 4 times more than in December 2020.

Another Kawasaki, the Versys 650 in this case, took the seventh position with 18 unit sales in the performance bike sales list for January 2021, followed by the Z650 (13 units).

In ninth place came the Africa Twin from Honda, 12 units of which were sold in January and 3 bikes (Kawasaki Versys 1000, Vulcan S and Harley-Davidson Fat Boy) contend for the last position in the list.

All 3 bikes found 9 takers each, but the Versys 1000 makes it to the list purely on the basis that it registered year-on-year (YoY) sales growth, while the others saw their numbers dip badly.

Total sales of the top 10 models stood at 1600 units, which is a 23 percent growth YoY. The highest growth rate was posted by the Kawasaki Z900 at 1150 percent.
