December 2020 UV Sales
Overall sales in the segment has been pretty much consistent

UV sales in December 2020 saw 2 Maruti Suzuki products, namely the Eeco and Ertiga, lead the chart once again, like in the previous months.

Eeco is going from strength to strength and once again recorded over 11,000 unit sales and adding to that is a 47 percent yer-over-year (YoY) sales growth.

Second-placed Ertiga was not far off, with the top automaker having retailed 9177 units of the car, with a 38 percent YoY growth. Mahindra Bolero did better in November 2020 than in December, for its sales stood at 5053 units, which is also down 11 percent YoY.

The Renault Triber also recorded YoY degrowth, to the tune of 12 percent, with 4971 unit sales, which should improve with the addition of a turbo petrol engine, set to happen this year.

Maruti Suzuki’s XL6 had a good outing in December, for it fetched 3088 unit sales with a 22 percent YoY growth.

Sales of Innova Crysta is down when compared to last year, but take the month-on-month comparison (2192 units in November 2020) and it is evident that the premium MPV is steadily gaining traction. Hopefully the firm will not hit any more production issues.

Kia Carnival was driven home by 251 consumers, while the last 2 places in the December 2020 UV sales list is taken by the Mahindra Marazzo (161 units) and Toyota Vellfire (16 units).

Overall, the UV segment registered a total of 36,696 unit sales this past month, with a 12 percent YoY growth.
