TVS is developing a new 125cc scooter that will be launched in early 2017.
The scooter market in India has been booming and Hero MotoCorp has a majority of the chunk in this market. However, TVS also has a good share in this market all thanks to the Jupiter which has been selling really well. It has now been learnt that the company is developing an all-new 125cc scooter.
The new 125cc scooter from TVS will fill the void in that scooter where only a few companies have products. The scooter was earlier going to be launched under the Jupiter brand name itself but now TVS is considering the possibility of launching an all-new brand name for the new 125cc product. The manufacturer will launch the product in the early months of 2017.
There are very few 125cc scooters in the market. The Suzuki Access has been on sale for quite a few years now while the Honda Activa 125 is also available. However, most buyers still prefer to buy 110cc variants. The Jupiter has been doing well for TVS but the company still needs a couple of more products if they wish to have a stronger competition with Hero MotoCorp.
