Full Faired TVS Apache

TVS Motor has put some serious action in place and have a focussed comeback plan to gain popularity in the market. The company has five new bikes in the pipeline including the TVS-BMW Motorrad offering. These bikes will be launched by the end of 2014. TVS has been pushed down in the Indian market by the dominance of competitors like Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp and Honda. The TVS Apache did help them gain some market share, but was not at par compared to competitors. Sales figures are not in favour of this Hosur based company.

The TVS Phoenix 125 is a good product and sold 10,000 units till date. That and the Apache have kept the company on the go. Newer versions of the Wego and Star City are expected sometime soon. A new bigger scooter sharing the Wego’s components is on the way. A replacement for the TVS Victor can also be speculated. And then there is the 500cc sportsbike made in collaboration with BMW. The TVS-BMW bike will mostly see local production and hence competitive pricing is expected.

TVS had held their 21st annual general meeting recently where they cited immense improvement schemes are underway to make their products of higher standards. They also mentioned that the knowledge and other excerpts gained through BMW has helped them immensely. Currently, TVS has fallen too much on its market share price. Bajaj Auto and Hero MotoCorp have their prices in the range of Rs. 1900/- and Rs. 1700/- respectively, but TVS has fallen to as much as Rs. 32/-.

None the less, TVS seems confident about the future, which is about a years time. To present and deliver world-class products at par with industry standards and rise in the Indian market is their vision. The export market scenario is good for TVS where it witnessed a 14% growth since last year at 20,020 units.
