TVS Draken Concept Bike

This fiscal will see TVS Motor launch a new product in every quarter which started with the launch of the Star City+ yesterday. Following the launch of its 110cc commuter motorcycle, TVS confirmed that the company will be launching the Scooty Zest scooter in June this year, followed by the Victor motorcycle in the next quarter (July-September) and the new Apache set to release in the last quarter of 2014.

TVS Apache 180 ABS Review

Starting with the bike for the enthusiasts, the TVS Apache is all set to get a major overhaul with features being incorporated from the Draken concept shown at the 2014 Auto Expo in February this year. The Draken concept was showcased with a host of interesting features like LED daytime running lights, sub-frame, ABS and a new exhaust with reverse free flow technology. The company states that the concept is an evolution on the lines of the Apache RTR’s design language.

The Draken concept also received an offset monoshock suspension and function active matrix digital speedometer. While certain features might not make it to the production model, the updates will still be significant to give the Apache an all new look. The new TVS Apache is also expected to get a bump in power as well and less Pulsar like styling.

TVS Scooty Zest Front

The Scooty Zest was also showcased at the Auto Expo and will be launched in June later this year. The Scooty Zest comes with the same 109.7cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that also powers the TVS Jupiter, Wego and the Star City+ in the company’s lineup. The engine churns out 8 BHP of power and 8 Nm of torque on the Wego, and is mated to a V-Matic transmission. With the Scooty Zest’s light weight, the scooter is expected to deliver decent performance and fuel economy. It has been a strong performer for the company in its segment.

TVS Victor

Reviving the Victor nameplate back in India, TVS Motor will be launching the motorcycle in the third quarter of 2014 between July and September. While the specifications of the engine are still under wraps, the company did confirm that the Victor’s engine will follow the same principles of the Eco-Thrust series, offering more torque, fuel efficiency and power to the rider. The new Victor is being targeted at the commuter segment, much like the original model.
