VinFast reveals ultra-luxury Lac Hong 900S and 800S with triple-motor EV setup
VinFast has introduced two new ultra-luxury electric vehicles, the Lac Hong 900S and Lac Hong 800S, while also announcing a restructuring of its automotive portfolio into three distinct brand lines. The move is aimed at addressing different segments of the market, with Lac Hong positioned as the company’s flagship luxury division. The newly revealed models are expected to be launched in global markets by 2027 and will join the previously unveiled Lac Hong 900LX in the brand’s premium lineup.
As part of the restructuring, VinFast’s vehicle portfolio will now be organised into three categories. The Lac Hong brand will represent ultra-luxury vehicles, while the VF range will continue to cater to the mass-market passenger car segment with models such as the VF3, VF5, VF6, VF7 and VF9. The company has also introduced a Green brand dedicated to commercial mobility solutions, which includes models like the Limo Green and Minio Green that are expected to serve fleet and transport operators.
Both the Lac Hong 900S and 800S will feature a triple-motor electric powertrain producing around 625 HP. The setup includes two motors mounted on the rear axle and one on the front, indicating an all-wheel-drive configuration. VinFast has also confirmed that the models will use an active suspension system designed to improve ride comfort and handling stability, although detailed performance and battery specifications are yet to be disclosed.
In terms of design, the Lac Hong 900S adopts a fastback-style body, while the 800S is positioned as a large luxury SUV. Despite their different silhouettes, both vehicles share several design cues including a grille with vertical slats, split-style headlights with slim LED daytime running lights and flush door handles. The rear features T-shaped LED taillights, while subtle styling differences such as chrome and black detailing help distinguish the two models.
Inside, the two vehicles feature a layered dashboard layout with wood trim, dual digital displays and a three-spoke steering wheel with gold accents. VinFast states that both models will offer zero-gravity seats along with powered doors, wireless charging pads and powered front and rear seating. The 900S sedan adds further luxury elements including a partition between the front and rear compartments with projection capability and a starlight headliner intended to enhance the rear passenger experience.
