Every year there is the Kala Ghoda Art Fest, which showcases new concepts and innovative ideas. The 2012 edition is already taking place as we speak and will be open to the public till 14th February. The most eye catching piece is undoubtedly the Volkswagen Beetle Art Piece, which was created entirely out of disposed scraps and e-waste. Volkswagen has associated with this activity to promote its Think Blue philosophy. Haribaabu Natesaan is the artist who created the life-sized Beetle out of scrap. This has been done to promote recycling and eco-friendly living.

So what is this Volkswagen Beetle made of? There are over 2800 scrap pieces used on this art form, including 800 cold drink crowns, 800 spark plugs, 200 bottle caps, 60 mother boards, CDs, cassettes, speakers, keyboards, hard disks, barbecue sticks, cans, wires, monitors, pends, type writers, etc. But where did all this scrap come from? Volkswagen organized a few Think Blue Clean Up Drives, where all this was collected. The result is fabulous and the Beetle Art Piece is expected to be showcased at various events in the near future.
