The German automobile giant has showcased the Tiguan at Auto Expo. The car is based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform, which makes it 50 kilograms lighter than its predecessor. The updated version is much more spacious and upmarket. The exteriors of the car are completely redesigned which are based on the new design language as seen on the Passat and Golf. The car will be powered by a 2.0 litre TDI engine which churns out 148 HP of power when it comes to India.

The alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, LED headlamps and the new front grille give the Tiguan a sporty look. Volkswagen also claims that the new car offers increased interactive driving experience and is more fuel efficient than the older version. The company has so far remained tight-lipped regarding the pricing though it is confirmed that the car will be launched by the end of 2016 or in the first quarter of 2017.
