Volkswagen Virtus Latin NCAP crash test results are out!

Volkswagen Virtus gets full five stars in Latin NCAP crash test. The India-spec MQB A0 IN platform based C-segment sedan equipped with 6 airbags has scored some impressive numbers.

For Adult Occupant Protection, the Virtus has scored 92 percent. 92 percent has been scored for Child Occupant Protection as well. The sedan has scored 53 percent for Pedestrian Protection and 85 percent for Safety Assist Systems.

According to Latin NCAP, protection offered to the driver and passenger head and neck was good. Driver´s chest showed adequate protection meanwhile passenger chest showed good protection. Both front passenger’s knees showed good protection.

Driver tibias and passengers left tibia showed adequate protection while passengers right tibia showed good protection. Footwell area of the Virtus was rated as stable and symmetrical between driver and passenger side.

The body shell of the Volkswagen Virtus was rated as stable and capable of withstanding further loadings.

In side impact test – head, abdomen and pelvis protection was good and chest protection was adequate. With side pole impact test, the head, abdomen and pelvis protection was good, and chest protection was marginal. 

Whiplash test revealed that the seat has shown good protection to the adult neck. The VW Virtus meets the rear impact structure requirements as well.

This means the same safety rating will be valid for the Skoda Slavia since both of these cars are mechanically the same.

On the other hand, the Brazil made Volkswagen Polo has scored a poor 3-star rating.
