The Himalayan comes with a large wind screen and round mirrors

You read it first on MotorBeam. The Royal Enfield Himalayan is all set to be launched on 2nd February and the much-awaited bike has been spotted again without any sort of camouflage by our reader Rohan Karkare. The uncovered bike reveals all details and we also learn from our sources that it will be priced under Rs. 1.80 lakh (on-road, Delhi). The bike looks rugged and has a masculine design which will surely attract a lot of adventurers towards the product. The adventure bike is also the first of its kind in this price segment.

There is Himalayan livery on the fuel tank and mud guard but the motorcycle is still missing name badges and logos. This Royal Enfield comes with round mirrors, a big windscreen and mounts to fit large luggage cases on either side of the bike at the rear and there’s also a provision to fit a jerry can at the front of the bike. The Himalayan will be offered in a few colours like white and black. The motorbike also gets split seats and beefy tyres with wired wheels that add to the character of the adventure machine.

To add some contrast to the design, some elements of the Royal Enfield Himalayan have been painted to black. Since the Indian automaker has made this adventure bike for touring large distances, the company will be offering a lot of accessories for the bike and buyers will find them useful for their adventures. The complete list of official accessories will be revealed on the day of the launch itself. We can also expect buyers to modify their Himalayan extensively, just like how other Royal Enfields are being done up.

In terms of mechanicals, the Royal Enfield Himalayan is powered by a brand new 431cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, SOHC engine that belts out 30 HP of power and 32 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 5-speed manual transmission. There are no other proper adventure bikes available in India at this price range so the Himalayan is going to have the first mover advantage. It will be interesting to note how buyers perceive this bike and what type of demand it witnesses.
