In January 2022, 150cc bike sales reduced by 41 percent year-on-year

The Apache RTR series of motorcycles topped the 150cc bike sales chart for the month of January 2022 by registering sales of 25,925 units.

In second place came the Yamaha FZ that found 15,734 new buyers, while the motorcycles in the third (Honda Unicorn, 11,349 units) and fourth spots (Bajaj Pulsar 150, 11,239 units) were closely matched.

One unit each of Yamaha’s popular R15 was ridden home by 6146 new customers in January and during the same time, Hero sold 3067 units of its Xtreme range of bikes, while Suzuki retailed 2462 units of its 150cc Gixxers.

Up next in the January 2022 150cc bike sales chart is the Bajaj Avenger Street 160, 1688 units of which were sold this past month. The Honda Hornet 2.0 and CB200X duo (720 units) and X-Blade (225 units) completed the chart.

None of the top-10 motorcycles of the 150cc motorcycle segment registered year-on-year (YoY) sales growth. As a result, the combined sales registered by the vehicles (78,555) in January was 41 percent less than the sales they recorded in the same month a year ago.
