2013 Honda CB150X

Honda unveiled a low spec 150cc version of the CBR150R called the CB150. This version has compact styling, the design language is similar to the CB500F. Power comes from the same 150cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine which produces a peak power output of 17.6 BHP at 10,500 RPM and peak torque output of 12.66 NM at 8500 RPM with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Honda CB150 features the same telescopic forks at the front and linked monoshock suspension at the rear like the CBR150R.

Could Honda add another 150 cc variant depending on their functionality like race bike, street bike and adventure bike. Adventure versions usually have fewer markets than race and street versions. This segment of bikes is hotting up and have a huge potential in India, if they price these models aggressively then the competition will get tough for its rivals.

Adventure motorcycles are motorcycles with touring capability on paved and unpaved roads. As a dual sport they have a significant advantage and perform well on pavement at higher speeds unlike most dual sports. Their size, weight and sometimes their tyres limit their off-road capability. Most adventure motorcycles function well on graded dirt and gravel roads but are less than ideal on more difficult off-pavement terrain. In India there are very few adventure version bikes like Hero MotoCorp’s Impulse.
