Triumph CKD

Triumph is all set to launch its products in India. The British 2-wheeler manufacturer showcased its product lineup at last year’s Auto Expo and recently confirmed sales will start in November 2013. CKD boxes belonging to Triumph were spotted recently at the IGI airport in New Delhi and the pictures of the same were shared by our friends at Rushlane. Triumph will enter the Indian market through the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route to keep the prices very competitive. The CKD route attracts 10% import duty which is far less than the whopping 60-75% duty slashed on CBU motorcycles.

Triumph has already started an assembly line at Manesar, Haryana and the plant work will be completed very soon. The company is working on setting up dealerships across major cities and bookings are expected to start by the end of the month. Triumph also have plans of setting up a manufacturing unit near Bengaluru, where production of lower capacity bikes is expected to start in 2015. Enthusiasts have been waiting for Triumph motorcycles ever since the unveil last year. The company is going to give Harley-Davidson, Moto Guzzi, Aprilia and Ducati a tough fight.

The Triumph range in India will comprise of the Bonneville, Tiger 800 XC, Street Triple, Speed Triple, Daytona 675, Storm and Rocket III Roadster. The prices are expected to start at just over Rs. 5 lakhs for the entry level models going all the way up to Rs. 22 lakhs for the top end performance machines. Triumph will also provide genuine parts, best after-sales services to authentic merchandise and accessories. The iconic bike maker is all set for the big launch and the complete brand experience that Triumph is going to bring is sure to win Indian hearts.
