Honda Mobilio Dashboard

Honda recently unveiled the Mobilio MPV Prototype at the 2013 Indonesian Motor Show. The Japanese automaker will lift the covers off the production model at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show in November. The Mobilio is based on the Brio platform which helps Honda in significant cost savings. Hence, the Honda Mobilio is going to be priced between Rs. 8.42 to 10.10 lakhs in Indonesia and we can expect the Indian arm to follow a similar pricing strategy. The Mobilio is India bound in 2014 and will rival the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.

The interiors of the Honda Mobilio MPV have been uncovered and reveal the dashboard, second row and boot. Honda’s principle of ‘Man Maximum Machine Minimum’ works wonders on the Mobilio as well. The dashboard is identical to the Brio and Amaze, featuring the same layout but we can notice a touch screen infotainment system, leather wrapped gear knob and silver pedals. The dashboard is all black but the cabin is finished in dual tone black and beige colours and looks quite appealing.

The second row of the Honda Mobilio doesn’t get captain seats, nor does it get a centre arm rest but there is a roof mounted AC unit with three AC vents and buttons to control the air flow speed. The windows in the second row are much larger than what’s seen on the Amaze and legroom seems generous too (the wheelbase is 2650 mm). The last row of seats is meant for two adults and although we can’t see the space in the third row, the boot seems to be bigger than the Ertiga which means you will have at least 350-litres of storage capacity which can further be boosted by flipping forward the last row in 50:50 ratio.

The Honda Mobilio is powered by the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC mill that propels the City. The diesel engine will come from the Amaze which will really appeal to utility vehicle buyers who are looking for a practical MPV without breaking the bank. With the Toyota Innova touching Rs. 18 lakhs (for the top-end variant, on-road Mumbai), cheaper MPVs offering customers good value for their money is the need of the hour.
