Second Gen Range Rover Sport

Land Rover had showcased the all-new Range Rover Sport recently, making its world debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show. The British automaker has revealed the UK pricing for the Range Rover Sport and the deliveries will commence next month. The SUV will reach Indian dealerships by September this year and it has been positioned between the existing Discovery 4 and the regular Range Rover, retailing with a starting price of £51,500 (Rs. 43 lakhs) in the UK. The new Range Rover Sport comes with three engine options including both diesel and petrol along with four equipment grades.

Three engine options with the new Range Rover Sport consists of two diesels, a 3.0-litre TDV6 producing 255 HP with a 3.0-litre SDV6 good for 288 HP and a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine churning out 503 HP of power. All engines come equipped with stop/start technology, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard. The four trim levels on offer with the Range Rover Sport are SE, HSE, HSE Dynamic and Autobiography Dynamic.

The base SE comes fitted as standard with leather upholstery, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, DAB digital audio, a power tailgate, intelligent stop-start, two-zone climate control, heated front seats, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, HD navigation, four-corner air suspension with automatic levelling, Terrain Response  and “Say-What-You-See” voice control. The HSE grade gets additional 20-inch alloy wheels, Oxford perforated leather seats with 14-way electric front seat adjustment and memory function, heated rear seats, power steering column adjustment, front fog lights, paddle shift controls, heated windscreen, rear view camera and aluminium Range Rover treadplates.

The HSE Dynamic trim in addition to the HSE standard features gets added with stainless steel pedals, a bright finish for the twin tailpipes, gloss black grille and vents, 21-inch alloys, illuminated treadplates, twin speed transfer box, torque vectoring and the more sophisticated Terrain Response 2 Auto system. The range topping Autobiography Dynamic retails at £74,995 (Rs. 62.70 lakhs), which gets equipped with High Beam Assist for the headlights, configurable interior mood lighting, Meridian Surround Sound audio system, illuminated treadplates, adaptive cruise control with Queue Assist, plus a more comprehensive safety package including emergency braking and active front seatbelts.
