Tata Motors founded the sub 4-metre sedan segment but the company was too late to get the sub 4-metre Manza. However the wait seems to be well worth it as the new Tata Zest compact sedan looks well proportioned and unlike the segment leading Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire which clearly looks like someone stuck a boot to the Swift. But Tata Motors isn’t just launching a sub 4-metre sedan, there is more to it. The company has loaded the Zest with a ton of features which is unseen in this segment like projector headlights, cornering stability, diesel automatic, etc.
The Tata Zest comes with all new interiors which has little or no resemblance to the Manza. The dashboard design is modern and attractive, taking inspiration from European cars which have mastered the interior department. There are so many features that Tata Motors had to come up with a new marketing term for it, CONNECTNEXT. With the Zest being the only turbocharged petrol car in its class, it will no doubt be the best performing owing to the juicy 140 Nm of torque.
