The anniversary edition adds new paint job, body graphics & badging

Launched in August 2014, the Zest marked the beginning of Tata Motors’ turnaround in the Indian market and was the first of the many new products to be launched under the HORIZONEXT strategy. Completing its first year of sales, the Indian automaker has now launched the Zest 1st Anniversary Special Edition with prices starting at Rs. 5.589 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The special edition is available on the XMS variant of the compact sedan and adds 10 special features to improve the aesthetic value of the model.

The Tata Zest anniversary special edition adds a new Vocal White colour option, front lower bumper painted in body colour, new wheel covers, piano black finished ORVMs, ‘Anniversary’ theme body graphics and ‘Anniversary Edition’ badging on the C-pillar. Inside the cabin, the special edition adds new Anniversary embroidered front seats, illuminated front scuff plates, powered rear curtain with remote and bottle holder on floor console.

Under the hood, the Tata Zest Anniversary edition gets no changes with power coming from a 1.2-litre Revotron turbo petrol engine producing 90 PS and 140 Nm of torque, while a 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel unit is also on offer churning out 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque. The XMS variant is only offered with the 5-speed manual transmission and comes loaded with a host of tech including the Harman infotainment system but misses out on rear parking sensors, auto climate control and voice command recognition among other bits.

Tata Motors is retailing the Zest anniversary edition in select showrooms starting now till October this year and will help the manufacturer capitalise on the overall positive festive sentiment. The special edition model has been priced at a Rs. 15,000/- premium over the standard XMS trim, but the company says it is offering benefits worth Rs. 31,000/- at almost half the price.
