Hero MotoCorp Dash

You read it first on MotorBeam. When Hero parted ways with Honda, the future of the world’s largest 2-wheeler company seemed uncertain. However Hero MotoCorp has shown a lot of promise in the form of a range of new products, quite a few of them are yet to hit the market. Taking the momentum forward, Hero plans to unveil more bikes which will go on sale next year. While the HX250R is likely to be launched in January, one new scooter will be launched this festive season, which is surely the 110cc Dash. This scooter will sit above the Maestro in Hero’s lineup.

Hero has to fend off competition from Honda by being aggressive. The Splendor maker is well aware about Honda’s onslaught in volumes being courtesy of its scooters and Hero plans a similar move to stay ahead of its erstwhile partner. While the Japanese automaker relies solely on the Activa for volumes in the scooter segment, Hero wants to offer a multitude of products in various displacement categories. The company showcased 150cc scooters (Zir) at the 2014 Auto Expo which look very promising.

We have learned that Hero has yet another scooter in the pipeline, called Dewlet. The said scooter will be unveiled next month but sales won’t start immediately. While we are not sure of the specs of the Hero Dewlet, we expect it to be a 110cc scooter to help the company boost its market share in the entry-level scooter segment. Hero currently sells two scooters, the Pleasure and Maestro, the latter accounting for higher sales.
