Hero has been testing the 2016 Splendor Pro and the bike gets a lot of tweaks and improvements over the outgoing model.

The Hero Splendor series of bikes are the highest selling two-wheelers in the country. Hero MotoCorp will be launching the new Splendor Pro soon and this model has been spotted undergoing testing for the very first time. The commuter bike carries a lot of changes and this is quite a significant update to the bike. The Splendor Pro gets a new headlight which is square in shape and the headlight cowl also sees a redesign. The side profile of the bike has also been tweaked while the rear also sees minor changes. The fuel tank gets a boxy design now.

Hero MotoCorp has done some part-sharing with the Splendor Pro’s stable mates also. The grab rails and exhaust heat shield of the new Splendor Pro have been borrowed from the HF Deluxe. The Splendor also loses its steel luggage-mounting point while the fuel filler cap has been given plastic cladding on it. The tail lights have been given a mild redesign while the turn indicators and mud guard remain the same. The instrument cluster is also new and gets chrome surrounds and three pods. The meter also has a side-stand indicator.

On the mechanical front, the 2016 Hero Splendor Pro might come with Hero’s new engine since it is being tested since a long time. Exact power figures and other specifications of the new engine aren’t known yet but we will know with the course of time. The Splendor Pro already sells in huge numbers every month and this update will enable Hero to sell it even more. The current Splendor Pro is priced between Rs. 46,337/- to Rs. 49,288/- (ex-showroom, Mumbai) depending on the variant and prices of the new model will remain more or less the same.
