Skoda will be re-introducing the Laurin & Klement variant in India with the new 2016 Superb. The same trim was earlier offered with the old Laura and Octavia.

The new generation Skoda Superb is India bound and will most likely be launched in early 2016. The current as well as the previous generations of this luxury sedan have been very successful in our market and Skoda is betting big with the new Superb. The 2016 Skoda Superb comes with much better styling that makes the vehicle look not only aggressive but also quite youthful and sporty, unlike the current model which looks a bit simple and resembles a limousine. It is also expected that Skoda will offer the sedan with the Laurin & Klement, i.e. L&K trim in India. The L&K trim was previously offered with the old generation Octavia as well as the Laura.

The Skoda Superb Laurin & Klement comes with additional features like heated seats, adaptive dampers having three drive modes, 18-inch alloy wheels, umbrellas in front doors, electrically-adjustable front seats with lumbar support and memory function, three-zone climate control, reverse parking sensors, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, bi-xenon headlights, electric tail-gate and keyless entry. The Laurin & Klement variant is the top-most trim and all other variants sit below this. The lower variants come with a smaller screen for the infotainment system and they also get smaller alloy wheels.

The Skoda Superb L&K variant has already been spotted in India ahead of its launch early next year. It will continue to be powered by the same 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine and 2.0-litre TDI diesel motor, both of which are offered on various other vehicles from the VAG stable and the oilburner in particular is one of the most popular engines in its class. The TSI engine will be mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox while the TDI plant will come with a 6-speed DSG unit. The 2016 Skoda Superb will be priced between Rs. 25.5-28.5 lakhs depending on the variant and it will fight it out with the Toyota Camry as well as some entry-level German sedans.
