The 2017 Audi A3 facelift has been launched in India, priced from Rs. 30.50 lakhs (petrol) and Rs. 32.30 lakhs (diesel).

Audi India has launched the 2017 A3 facelift and it is their 5th launch of the year. The 2017 Audi A3 comes with changes to the exteriors, interiors as well as mechanicals. Audi has priced the A3 35 TFSI (petrol) from Rs. 30.50 lakhs while the A3 35 TDI (diesel) is priced from Rs. 32.30 lakhs (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

On the outside, the 2017 Audi A3 comes with a new grille and headlamp design, new tail lamps, optional LED headlamps with dynamic turn indicators, and 16-inch alloy wheels. The bumpers also get a mild tweak in the design.

The interiors come with a new steering wheel, while rest of the layout remains similar to the previous model. You also get the usual MMI infotainment system with a retractable screen. Along with that, the A3 also gets a panoramic sunroof, Audi Phone Box and Audi Parking System Plus. The seats get Milano leather.

The diesel engine continues to be the same 2.0-litre TDI unit, churning out 143 HP of power, mated to a 6-speed S-Tronic transmission. The earlier model had a 1.8-litre TFSI petrol engine but the 2017 A3 gets a 1.4-litre TFSI unit, producing 150 HP of power and mated to a 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox.

The petrol engine also has a cylinder-on-demand function. The ARAI-claimed fuel efficiency for the petrol engine is 19.2 km/l while the diesel unit has a claimed figure of 20.38 km/l. The Audi A3 competes mainly with the Mercedes CLA.
