2017 KTM Duke teased officially, will be revealed on 8th November

KTM has teased the 2017 Duke showing the headlight of the upcoming street bike. The bike will be unveiled on 8th November on the sidelines of EICMA. The new models will replace the current Duke models in the manufacturer’s lineup across the world. This is the first major refresh for the Duke lineup.

The models are expected to be powered by the same set of engines as found in the current bikes. Minor changes to cope up with emission regulations will be present. Also, KTM is expected to smoothen the power delivery on the bikes and make them less vibey.

The engine powering the Duke 390 puts out 43 BHP and 35 Nm of torque, on the other hand the Duke 200 belts out 25 BHP and 19.2 Nm of twisting force. The bikes are expected to come with new split headlamps, new bodywork, sleeker design inspired from the Super Duke and new side mounted exhaust.

The 390 will additionally get a new full colour LCD instrument cluster, different forks and some more to differentiate it from its smaller sibling. The flat out performance on the new bikes will be a little less than the current ones due to the added weight.

If Bajaj-KTM can again price the bikes very competitively, it will again blow up the competition and emerge as the segment leaders in terms of sales. We also expect the new bikes to come without any niggles as the first batch of Dukes were plagued by a lot of issues. The new bikes bring refinement to the already impressive performance of the current bikes. India’s most loved affordable performance machines are coming in a new avatar!
