New E-Class been designed according to Mercedes’ evolved design language

Mercedes-Benz had unveiled the next generation E-Class quite some time back and it is expected to launch in India in the first half of 2017. The vehicle has now been spied on Indian roads for the first time and this indicates that the automaker is commenced testing rounds of the vehicle ahead of its launch.

Looking at the spied vehicle. it is clear that the new version gets the design to justify the German automaker’s ongoing pattern. While being more chubby at various body parts, the new version carries a high resemblance to its siblings the C-Class and the S-Class. The front grille section holds the same horizontal chrome slats with a giant Mercedes badge at the centre. With better aerodynamics, it looks to have received minor body tweaks with sharper lines across the flesh.

The electronic displays and controls on the inside are majorly updated with a pair of huge LCD displays that act as the infotainment system and the instrument cluster. A few other control dials and switches continue to be the same as Mercedes-Benz has been already consisting. With the new E-Class, we will get to see some all-new electronic features which are first of its kind in this segment.

Powering the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a 2.0-litre, four cylinder engine which has been mated to a 9-speed AMT transmission. The power gets transferred to the rear wheels and the engine is capable of generating 241 HP of power. The price of this sedan is expected to start at Rs. 55 lakhs (ex-showroom) and it will compete with the BMW 5-Series, Audi A6, Jaguar XF and Volvo S90.
