2017 Mercedes GLA45 AMG, CLA45 AMG Price Starts At Rs. 75.20 Lakhs

Mercedes-Benz has launched the facelifted GLA45 AMG and CLA45 AMG in India, priced from Rs. 77.87 lakhs and Rs. 75.20 lakhs respectively.

German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has kept the Indian audience hooked with a slew of launches lined up one after the other. The 2017 facelifted CLA was launched last year while the 2017 GLA hit our shores a couple of months back. Now the brand has launched the performance-oriented versions of the two, named the 2017 Mercedes GLA45 AMG & CLA45 AMG. Along with the facelifted versions, the German automaker has also launched the Aero Editions of both the cars.

Talking about performance numbers first, both the Mercedes CLA45 AMG and the GLA45 AMG share the same 2.0-litre petrol engine which has been tuned for spitting out 375 BHP of power and 475 Nm of torque. The in-line 4-cylinder powerhouse comes paired to a 7-speed SPEEDSHIFT automatic gearbox and employs a twin-scroll turbocharger to offer fantastic levels of performance. Both the cars come with 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system and Mercedes claims that this is their most powerful tune for this 2.0-litre engine till date. The CLA45 AMG goes from 0-100 km/hr in 4.1 seconds, while the GLA45 AMG takes a claimed 4.3 seconds.

From the outside, what differentiates the AMG models from the regular ones are the sporty highlights on the body shade, which run the entire length of the car. The revised front and rear bumpers, equipped with wider air dams and quad-exhaust pipes respectively, and minimalist side skirts are part of the AMG body kit. The GLA45 AMG also gets a prominent rear spoiler.

The cabin of both the cars adopts an all-black layout and an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also standard. There are subtle touches of red on the dashboard, steering wheel and the leather sport seats for a sportier ambience. The feature list is quite expansive and the two cars get projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, LED tail-lamps, AMG Sport suspension as well as the AMG Dynamic Plus package which comes with four selectable drive modes.

The Aero Edition comes with slightly more aggressive looks thanks to the sharper side skirts, front canards and bumper lip. However, there are no mechanical changes and the power and torque figures remain the same. The Aero pack can be applied on all the available colours. Also, the GLA gets a new Matte Metallic Grey colour which is unique to it and the CLA doesn’t get it.
