Honda has launched the 2018 Africa Twin in India with a sticker price of Rs. 13.23 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The adventure tourer will be exclusively available at Honda’s Wing World dealerships across 22 cities in India. Bookings are open for the first 50 customers only, so hurry!

The 2018 iteration of the bike gets new rider aids like ride-by-wire, 3 riding modes and 7-level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). The three riding modes are Urban, Tour and Gravel. Urban is best-suited for city riding, Tour is for the highways while the Gravel mode is for off-road terrains. There is another mode called the USER mode which allows the rider to save his/her preferred combination of power, engine braking and HSTC levels.

Apart from the electronics, the 2018 Honda Africa Twin also gets a Rally-style negative LCD instrument display. All other underpinnings like the suspension and the brakes are carried over from the previous model. The mechanicals too remain unchanged except for a marginal bump in the torque output. The 2018 Honda Africa Twin continues to draw power from a 999.11cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 89 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 93.1 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM (up from 91.9 Nm in the previous model). The motor comes mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
