The Dzire Special Edition has been introduced keeping the festive season in mind to attract more buyers.
The upcoming festive season is yet to begin but manufacturers have already started introducing special edition and limited edition models for their existing cars. Now, Maruti has launched the 2018 Dzire Special Edition variant which is based on the LXi and LDi trims.
The 2018 Maruti Dzire Special Edition gets added features to separate it from the standard LXi and LDi variants. The new features include a music system with Bluetooth connectivity, front door speakers, front power windows, remote central locking, wheel covers and rear parking sensors. These features come on the Limited Edition Dzire at a premium of about Rs. 30,000/- over the regular variants. Safety features continue to be the same with ABS with EBD, brake assist, front seat belts with pre-tensioner and force limiter and dual front airbags coming as standard.
Mechanically however, the Maruti Dzire Special Edition remains the same and is offered in two engine options. One is the 1.2-litre petrol engine that puts out 81.8 HP at 6000 RPM and 113 Nm of peak torque at 4200 RPM. The other option is a 1.3-litre diesel motor that produces 73.7 HP at 4000 RPM and 190 Nm of peak torque at 2000 RPM. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT is not offered since the LXi and the LDi are the base variants.
The price for the Maruti Dzire Special Edition is Rs. 5.56 lakhs for the LXi (petrol) variant while for the LDi (diesel) variant, it is Rs. 6.56 lakhs (both, ex-showroom, Delhi). The Maruti Dzire continues to be the highest selling car in India and the festive season which is considered to be very auspicious will help its sales rise with this new model on offer.
