The 2018 Suzuki Gixxer Cup is set to commence on 5th July at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore.

Suzuki is all set to start the 2018 Gixxer Cup on 5th July at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. The selection process will be held soon at the circuit on 2nd July. The selections are open for two classes – the Suzuki Gixxer Cup (for ages 17-24) and the Road to Rookies Cup (for ages 12-16).

A total of 22 riders will be selected for the Suzuki Gixxer Cup while 12 entries will be chosen for the Road to Rookies Cup. The selected riders will be given training on the track as well as in the classroom. Post that, the riders will need to apply for their FMSCI 2W Racing License which will allow them to race in the championships.

There will be a total of 4 rounds this season with the first three being held at the Kari Motor Speedway. The final round will be held at the Buddh International Circuit, Noida. The participants will be riding the race-spec versions of the Suzuki Gixxer SF motorcycle. The company hasn’t revealed the power and torque output of the race-spec Gixxer. The very first season of the Gixxer Cup was held in 2015 and has become a great platform for aspiring racers in the country.
