BMW S1000 RR leaked before EICMA 2018 debut

Ahead of EICMA 2018 debut, the specifications of the 2019 BMW S1000RR have been leaked online. The bike features a number of new equipment and cosmetic changes. The leaked spec sheet reveals the technical specifications, standard equipment and optional accessories for the bike.

Right off the bat, the first design change consists of the symmetrical headlights. The old non-symmetric designed headlights have been ditched for this year’s model. The bike features a redesigned tail section and body fairing as well.

Mechanical changes on the bike include the addition of the BMW ShiftCam technology. It is a new feature which was introduced with the 2019 BMW R1250 GS. The ShiftCam delivers increased power across the entire rev-range, saves fuel and makes the ride smooth. In the engine department, the bike will be using a liquid cooled inline-4 cylinder engine housing titanium valves. The motor will produce 207 HP at 13500 RPM and 113 Nm of torque at 11000 RPM.

The 2019 BMW S1000RR also gets a number of rider aid as standard features including BMW Motorrad race ABS, ABS pro, and four riding modes (rain, road, dynamic and race). These features are accompanied by digital traction control, shift assist pro, hill-start control, a TFT-display along with LED lights and turn signals.

BMW will also be selling a number of optional accessories with the bike. Tank bag, rear bag and calibration kit are just some of the accessories which will be available as an option. The price of the 2019 BMW S1000RR is likely to be revealed during the EICMA 2018. The bike is expected to launch in India sometime next year.
