Since 2016, the Maruti Vitara Brezza has been the best selling compact SUV for the Indian carmaker. In the domestic market, it has been putting up good sales figures since its launch. It has managed to sell more than 12,000 units every month for the past six months. The only update the car got was in 2018 when the manufacturer added an AMT gearbox to the transmission and a vibrant orange paint scheme, apart from that, it never got any substantial update.

However, Maruti is now giving its compact SUV a neat overhaul and will launch the vehicle in the next couple of months. The car is expected to come with distinct changes to the front and rear profile. It includes a redesigned front and rear bumper and a revamped tail light design. The front profile might get LED projector headlamps and an air intake scoop on the hood. Inside the vehicle, it will come with new fabric upholstery and a longer list of features, which will include the updated SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The Indian automaker has already manufactured 5000 units of the facelifted Vitara Brezza, with the car featuring a new in-house developed 1.5-litre E15A DDiS 225 diesel engine, which will soon power the Ciaz, Ertiga and the S-Cross. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Currently, the car comes with a Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre Multijet DDiS 200 diesel engine, producing 89 BHP, and is available with a 5-speed manual as well as an AMT gearbox.
