The 2020 Hyundai Xcent will come with a unique front fascia and Hyundai might discard the Xcent name.

All-new Hyundai Xcent spied in Europe

Hyundai is testing the second-generation Xcent in Europe. The spy-shots reveal quite a bit of the new compact sedan. The Xcent competes against the likes of Maruti Dzire, Tata Tigor, Honda Amaze and Ford Aspire.

It is also likely that Hyundai will drop the Xcent name in a step to sway off the taxi image that has been stuck to the current generation Xcent.

The exterior styling of the new sedan remains quite similar to the first generation Hyundai Xcent, although the styling seems to be fresh. The new sub four-metre sedan gets the latest scheme of Hyundai’s cascading grille. It will be even taller and wider than before and will come with honeycomb insertions. The headlamps and fog lamps have been refurbished. LED projector headlamps could be expected in the higher variants.

The new Xcent is expected to get the same steering wheel we saw in the recently launched Venue. Although, it can be confirmed that the new car will get a large 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system similar to the one seen on the Venue. The infotainment system will come with many features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car feature.

Hyundai will offer BS6 versions of the 1.2-litre Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine as well as the recently updated U2 CRDi 1.2-litre diesel motor. The petrol variant will get an AMT gearbox option replacing the current 4-speed torque converter, in order to offer adequate pricing.
