2021 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports Black Metallic
Honda has made some upgrades that has resulted in reduced weight and more useability

Honda has launched the 2021 Africa Twin Adventure Sports with a starting price tag of Rs. 15,96,500/- (ex-showroom, India, except Kerala).

While that is for the MT variant, the model sporting the DCT costs more, for its asking rate is Rs. 17,50,500/- (ex-showroom, India).

Design-wise, the motorcycle is an out-and-out adventure machine. It sports a semi double cradle frame, a bolt-on aluminium subframe and swing arm and a compact body style.

On the 2021 model year bike, there is a narrower seat with 2 height configurations, a new exhaust system, along with the usual high-set handlebars, 5-stage adjustable windscreen and a mega 24.5-litre fuel tank.

Dual LED headlights with DRLs are on offer on the motorcycle along with cornering lights, while there is also a 6.5-inch TFT touchscreen with navigation, smartphone connectivity and Apple CarPlay.

Further, there are features like heated grips, charging socket and tubeless tires, while there is also cruise control, and even an Emergency Stop Signal.

The 2021 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports comes integrated with a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that controls Throttle by Wire (TBW) and expanded 7-level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC).

In addition, the IMU also has control over Wheelie Control (3 levels), Cornering ABS (with off-road setting), Rear Lift Control and Cornering Detection (DCT), all offered with the bike. Moreover, there are 6 riding modes (Tour, Urban, Gravel, Off-Road, User 1 and User 2) as well.

Powered by a 1083cc twin-cylinder engine that is good for 98 HP at 7500 RPM and 103 Nm at 6000 RPM, the motorcycle comes with manual and DCT gearbox options.

Choose the manual and the kerb weight stands at 239 kg. On the other hand, the much more friendly DCT gearbox increases the bike’s weight to 249 kg. Honda has used a lithium-ion battery to reduce the bike’s weight.

Offered in Darkness Black Metallic (MT) and Pearl Glare White Tricolor (DCT) colour options, the motorcycle can be booked at Honda’s premium BigWing Topline dealerships.
