Hyundai has launched the 2021 i20 with a starting price tag of Rs. 6,79,900/- (ex-showroom and introductory) in India, today.

Available in a total of four variants, namely – Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O), the latest iteration of the popular premium hatchback comes with modern looks, a vast equipment list and multiple powertrain options.

Styling of the car is fresh and certainly gives the Tata Altroz a run for its money. There are numerous cuts and creases on the outside that give the car its own distinctive look.

In keeping with the times, Hyundai offers the car with LED projector headlamps, halogen projector fog lights, LED tail lamps, alloy wheels and even a diffuser at the back.

Inside, the car comes with with a newly styled dashboard that houses the 10.25-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster and the usual array of climate control buttons, among others.

But that is not all, for the 2021 Hyundai i20 price gets customers features such as an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 50 BlueLink connected car features, OTA map updates, cooled glovebox, electric mirrors and even a sunroof.

More features like smartphone wireless charger with cooling pad, Bluetooth connectivity, air purifier, auto-folding ORVMs with puddle lamps, Bose premium 7-speaker sound system, and a whole host of safety features including six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, rear camera, parking sensors, among others are available.

There is ample space inside and further, the boot capacity stands at 311-litres, 26 more than before.

As mentioned above, the 2021 i20 comes with multiple engines and gearbox options and they include a 1.2-litre NA petrol making 83 PS and 115 Nm (5-speed MT) or 88 PS and 115 Nm (IVT).

Further, there is a 1.0-litre turbo petrol making 120 PS and 172 Nm (6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT) and a sole 1.5-litre diesel putting out 100 PS and 240 Nm (6-speed MT)

In terms of colours, there are 6 monotone options such as Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Titan Grey, Fiery Red, Starry Night and Metallic Copper and two dual tone colour options namely Polar White with Black roof and Fiery Red with black roof, offered with the car.

Also, Hyundai offers a vast range of official accessories too. Rivals to the new i20 include the Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Honda Jazz.
