Kawasaki Ninja 300
It would not be a wise move to increase the asking price of the 300cc motorcycle

Kawasaki dealers have unofficially begun accepting bookings for the 2021 Ninja 300 as the brand gets ready to relaunch its entry-level supersports motorcycle in India.

The token amount currently ranges between Rs. 10,000-50,000/- based on the location of the dealership and is wholly refundable until 10 days after the 2-wheeler’s launch takes place.

It came to light in December 2020 that the baby Ninja will be reintroduced in India either by March or April this year with increased localisation levels (read article here).

While the earlier report claimed that the 2021 Ninja 300 will cost less than it did in its BS4 guise, bringing its asking price close to that of the KTM Duke 390 and the BMW G 310 R, latest developments state the opposite.

Now, it is said that Kawasaki might price it at about Rs. 3.20 lakhs (ex-showroom), which is more than Rs. 20,000/- dearer than the bike’s BS4 sticker price.

To justify the price increase, the Japanese marque is said to have given the bike Ninja 400-esque LED headlights, new paint schemes, and the TFT display from the Ninja 650 might be offered, while the overall design is likely to stay as is.

The 296cc parallel-twin will also produce the same 39 PS and 27 Nm as before, while the motorcycle’s weight might increase a bit with the BS6 update. No changes are expected to be made to the suspension and brakes though.

With the 2021 Kawasaki Ninja 300 bookings commenced, we do not have to wait for long to know whether the bike will get costlier or more affordable, for its launch is very near.
