2021 Mahindra Scorpio Test Mule
Final stages of testing underway for the new gen Mahindra Scorpio

2021 Mahindra Scorpio spotted in production-ready form by MotorBeamer Dhamotharan. The new generation model is taking its shape and as you can see in these pictures, the SUV seems to be ready to hit the production line soon.

The new Scorpio is likely to hit the showrooms by mid-2021. It is based on a new ladder-frame chassis, will be longer and wider than the current model on sale.

The next gen Scorpio will get all-new exterior with new body panels. Expect it to get a new grille up front with LED headlights. The hood looks quite long and the wheel arches are pronounced.

The rear section looks a tad raked compared to the current model which is flat as a pancake. The tail light cluster might retain the vertical styling. The tailgate will get side-opening just like the current gen model with a door handle on the left side.

The overall presence of the 2021 Mahindra Scorpio spotted here looks quite impressive and it actually looks considerably bigger in size.

The interior is expected to get a redesigned dashboard with new steering wheel and all-digital instrument cluster along with a huge touchscreen.

The third-row seat will be front facing. Mahindra might offer a panoramic sunroof in the range topping variants of the new Scorpio.

While the naming is not confirmed, the automaker recently trademarked Scorpio Sting and Scorpion names. However, one of these is registered for the current gen model which will continue to be on sale alongside the new one.

There will be two engine options for the new Scorpio – 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre turbo petrol. The new gen Scorpio will compete directly with the new Tata Safari.
