Mercedes has launched the 2021 E-Class with a starting price tag of Rs. 63.60 lakhs (ex-showroom), in India, today.

The carmaker states that the 2021 model year E-Class is the most dynamic and technology laden E-Class ever.

Available in E200, E220d and E350d variants (the first 2 come in 2 trims, while the E350d is available in a sole AMG Line trim) only in the long wheelbase form, the car features an all-new front profile with new LED headlamps, radiator grille and bumper.

Similarly, there are new split LED tail lights and a restyled bumper at the rear. The AMG Line E350d sports a different diamond radiator grille, power domes on the bonnet, new bumpers and 18-inch AMG alloy wheels.

Colour options offered with the facelifted E-Class include Polar White, Obsidian Black, High-Tech Silver, Mojave Silver, Selenite Grey and Designo Hyacinth Red.

Inside, the 2021 Mercedes E-Class price gets customers a new steering wheel, 2 12.3-inch digital screens on the Artico leather dashboard (one is a touchscreen for the latest MBUX head unit), open pore wood trim, panoramic sunroof and 590 W Burmester surround sound system.

Features offered with the car include 2 wireless smartphone chargers, Mercedes me connect with Alexa, Google Home integration and Parking location POIs on navigation system, reclining rear seats, removable touchpad in rear centre armrest and power close function for doors.

In addition, the 2021 Mercedes E-Class price also gets customers a chauffeur package, Park Pilot (Active Park Assistance) with reverse camera, and if a customer choses the range-topping E350d variant, he or she will get more kit such as Air Body control suspension, 360-degree camera, front seats with memory function, and beige-Tropez blue interior upholstery.

Measuring over 5 meters long, with a wheelbase of 3079 mm, the E-Class has a spacious cabin and a large 540-litre boot.

The E200 draws power from a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine good for 197 HP and 320 Nm. This model can do the 0-100 km/hr dash in 7.6 seconds.

A 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel powers the E220d. This motor makes 194 HP and 400 Nm of torque and enables the luxury sedan to hit 100 km/hr from nought in 7.6 seconds.

Finally, the 3.0-litre in-line 6-cylinder diesel powering the E350d makes 286 HP and 600 Nm and using this power, this variant does the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 6.1 seconds. All the models will feature a 9-speed automatic transmission as standard.

When it comes to safety, the car has 7 airbags, Pre-safe, Active Brake Assist, Active Bonnet for pedestrian protection and Emergency call with Mercedes me connect. Moreover, the firm has also launched service packages for the car.

Mercedes has stated that it will launch 15 new products this year in India. Also, the rorty AMG version is also headed to our shores.
