The recently spotted 2022 KTM RC 125 looks production-ready

It was only a matter of time before the 2022 KTM RC 125 was spotted testing on our roads, for, the other RC models have already been seen.

As is the case with KTM, the smallest RC model looks similar to the upcoming RC 200, be it the bodywork, lighting units or the wheels.

The changes made to the new generation RC 125 run deep, for, it comes with a new split trellis frame and a revised subframe.

As can be ascertained from the video, the bodywork is all-new and the fairing has lot more elements than before. It should prove to be more effective as well.

A larger flyscreen sits above the headlight, which is a halogen unit (like in the 2022 RC 200). KTM will offer LED headlights for the 2022 RC 390, though. Also, the indicators now flank the headlight.

Moving on, the motorcycle now has a larger fuel tank, just ahead of which sits the LCD digital instrument cluster borrowed from the 250 Adventure. The switchgear seem to be untouched.

KTM should ensure the dry weight of the bike stays below 140 kg like the old model

The seats look like they have a bit more padding and the rider’s seating posture is, mercifully, relaxed, which should make the bike more accessible to many.

However, the tail is sharp like before, sporting grab handles from the Duke 390 and there are newer, lighter alloys. Also, the front brake is a bit bigger, for added stopping power.

Like its predecessor, the recently spotted 2022 RC 125 should also borrow its engine from the Duke 125. The motor puts out 15 HP and 12 Nm of torque in the naked bike.

When it gets launched this year, the 2022 RC 125 will continue to be a rather pricey proposition and could cost in the ballpark of Rs. 1.85-1.90 lakhs (ex-showroom).
