Maruti Ertiga Petrol Long Term Review
The old K15B unit will be shown the door soon

For 2022, the Maruti Ertiga and XL6 will get a new Dual Jet engine

The 2022 Maruti Ertiga and XL6 are set to come with a new K15C 1.5-litre petrol engine instead of the current K15B unit. Both facelifted cars are slated to be launched this month.

The new 1.5-litre K15C motor will be a Dual Jet unit that is said to put out a maximum of 115 HP instead of the 103 HP of the K15B engine. The torque output of the new motor is unknown, but should be more than the 138 Nm that the current mill makes.

It is evident that the 2022 Maruti XL6 engine will also feature an integrated starter generator and auto start-stop technology, the same system found on the heavily upgraded 2022 Baleno.

The market launch of the XL6 is likely to take place on 21st April

Maruti will continue to offer a 5-speed manual transmission like before, but new for 2022 will be a 6-speed torque converter automatic, which would replace the old 4-speed unit.

Powertrain aside, the MPVs are set to sport minor styling changes and new equipment on the inside, including more goodies to safeguard passengers. The 6-seater model will also come with bigger alloy wheels.
