Citroen C5 Aircross Facelift
The facelift gets new alloy wheels

2023 Citroen C5 Aircross facelift will go on sale in India by this September, will retain the 2-litre diesel engine

Citroen will launch the 2023 C5 Aircross facelift in just about 3 months. The company unveiled the facelifted model for overseas markets earlier this year. It comes with updated looks and more tech. In fact, it’s more of a proper facelift than a mere cosmetic update.

Replacing the split front light setup of the pre-facelift version, the updated model comes with single-piece headlamps with DRLs. The grille is illuminated and the bumper has a more sharper look, while along the sides, the premium SUV remains pretty much the same.

The car now adorns a new set alloy wheels which sport a petal-shaped design. At the back, Citroen has deemed fit that only the LED tail lights need to be updated with new signatures, leaving the tailgate and bumper untouched.

Inside, the dashboard has been mildly revised. A 10-inch infotainment touchscreen replaces the previous 8-inch unit while the central air-con vents are now slim rectangular units.

In addition, the centre console of the Citroen C5 Aircross facelift does not feature the gear selector. Instead, there is a toggle switch and new buttons that control various functions of the car.

This comfort-oriented SUV now gets front seats with 15 mm of additional padding and it helps that they can be both heated and cooled as per the occupant’s wish. No changes are expected to be made when it comes to the SUV’s powertrain.

While the refreshed car will be offered in petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid guises on foreign soil, when it arrives to India, it will feature the same 2-litre diesel engine that exerts 174.6 HP and 400 Nm paired to the 8-speed autobox.

Citroen has sold over 3.25 lakh units of the C5 Aircross in 85 countries since the outgoing car went on sale. In India, the premium SUV was launched in April 2021 and Citroen has managed to sell around 1000 units.

When the facelifted model arrives in September, the French maker will increase the dealership count to 20 across 19 cities. The company is gearing up to launch the much-awaited C3 on 20th July.
