New 2023 Mahindra Scorpio official teaser almost confirms scoops of its exterior design earlier

The scoops of the 2023 Mahindra Scorpio with respect to its exterior design elements released earlier have almost been confirmed with the latest set of official teasers released since yesterday. In addition, more unofficial details have also emerged.

Calling the new Scorpio, the the big daddy of SUVs, Mahindra is set to capture the D-segment currently dominated by Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Codenamed Z101, the SUV will get a white, glossy brown, and dark green paint job among other colours.

The Scorpio will reportedly come powered by a 2-litre turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine with both manual and automatic transmission options. The diesel engine, might get 2 states of tune with the lowered powered one finding its place on the base variants.

The petrol engine might be the mStallion 150 TGDi unit that puts out 150 HP at 5000 RPM and 300 Nm between 1250-3000 RPM.

The diesel engine, however, might be the tried and tested mHawk 130 that exerts 130 HP at 3750 RPM and 300 Nm between 1600-2800 RPM. The mHawk is expected to put out a little more power for the top-end models.

At the front, the prominent grille houses Mahindra’s new logo.

It gets Scorpio’s signature vertical slats finished in chrome. At the bottom, there is a honeycomb grille ending in the bumper that houses the number plate. The LED fog lamps with the LED drl surrounds render an aggressive look at the front.

The SUV gets chrome inserts on the side window line while the roof rails are finished in white. The bottom skid plates are finished in brushed silver. The SUV also gets large plastic matte black side cladding throughout its perimeter, a typical Scorpio trait.

When launched, the 2023 Scorpio will compete against the likes of the D-segment SUVs. Expect a price tag somewhere between Rs. 12 to 20 lakhs.
