The 2023 Rolls Royce Phantom Series 2 gets revised styling and updates to the interior

After Bentley launched the Bentayga Extended Wheelbase 3 days back, it’s now the turn of Rolls Royce as the luxury marque has unveiled the 2023 Phantom Series 2 and Extended Series 2 limousines.

The already good looking and sophisticated Phantom gets discreet updates from the front to the rear, most of which have been from customer inputs. At the front, the Pantheon grille is illuminated. It gets an upper bar polished to gel well with the LED drls on both the sides.

The chrome grille has been darkened after customers have reportedly asked for black inserts on the exterior especially on the windscreen surrounds, hood reins, and side window lines. Rolls Royce now offers these updates as an option for those who want them.

The headlights look striking thanks to the laser-cut bezel starlight headliner. The biggest update, however, is on the wheels which now come with 2 standard options – the 1920s-style disc alloys and the modern-looking units with triangular facets.

Fabric upholstery is one of the latest additions

The disc alloys can be had with polished stainless steel and black lacquer while the other ones come with partial as well as full polish.

On the inside, customers can now order fabric upholstery in addition to leather units. But the quality of farbric would be top-notch unlike the ones seen on mainstream cars. Rolls Royce has combined fabric procured from an Italian firm with bamboo fibers to bring about a unique texture.

The steering has been updated for making the car more driver-centric while the dashboard now gets an exquisite tri-dimensional effect.

There are not many updates at the rear

The powertrain remains the same though. The luxury limousine is driven by the usual twin-turbo V12 6.75-litre engine. But, this unit will not be offered for long as Rolls Royce is reportedly mulling the introduction of electric powertrains as soon as possible on the lines of Bentley.

In India, Rolls Royce currently sells the Wraith, Dawn, Cullinan, Phantom, and Ghost. The 2023 Phantim Series 2 is expected to reach our shores soon. Expect a price tag of around Rs. 11 crores (ex-showroom).
