Today we are going to be talking about the 5 best SUVs in the world. As you all know, SUVs have gained massive traction over the past few years as buyers have shifted their attention to these high-riding vehicles since it gives them a nice ego massage. Jokes aside, SUVs seem to be the future for their road presence and practicality. So let’s talk about 5 of my favourite SUVs.
Bentley Bentayga
The fastest SUV in the world, in terms of top speed that is, the Bentley Bentayga comes with the option of either a V6 Hybrid or a V8 and even a W12. There was also a V8 diesel with three turbochargers for an insane 900 Nm of twisting force. The W12 variant is called Speed and has a top speed of 306 km/hr. The Bentayga offers luxury, comfort and driving fun as it has a brilliant balance of ride and handling. Costs upwards of Rs. 4 crores though and is the second most expensive SUV in the world.
Range Rover
The vehicle that started the luxury SUV segment, the Range Rover is the most in-demand premium SUV in the world because it offers the best blend of luxury and off-road ability. This is the most capable SUV in this whole list because it was made to cross obstacles first, not pamper its occupants which it still manages to do brilliantly well. Available with a slew of engines, the long-wheelbase 5.0-Supercharged V8 SV Autobiography variant is my pick and it costs upwards of Rs. 5 crores.
Mercedes-AMG G63
If there is an SUV which has a crazy soul, it has to be the Mercedes-AMG G63. Right from its imposing looks to the crazy performance of the V8 motor, the G63 defies physics to a certain extent with its boxy design still managing to cheat aeros as the new-gen model is very composed at high speeds. Although rarely used off the road, the G63 is a very capable SUV and comes with all the luxuries you would expect, at a price of around Rs. 2.5 crores.
Rolls-Royce Cullinan
Talking about all the luxuries, no SUV does luxury better than the Rolls-Royce Cullinan which sits at number 2 in this list. It is the most luxurious SUV in the world and also the most expensive SUV in the world. The Cullinan might not win awards for its looks but it sure grabs attention with its interiors and attention to detail with some real ultra-luxury touches that leave you spell-bound. Performance is great too thanks to the smooth yet punchy V12 motor. All this comes at a cost of close to Rs. 10 crores for the BlackBadge with options.
Porsche Cayenne
Since most people buy SUVs to drive on-road and not go off-road, on top of this list is the Porsche Cayenne as it’s the best handling SUV in the world and has insanely good performance too. It can go off-road too and the interior is a piece of art and so is the steering feel. The Cayenne feels like a sports car to drive and is practical too. The top of the line Turbo S costs Rs. 2.22 crores and there is a Coupe version too which comes at a Rs. 6 lakh premium.
