2015Toyota Camry Facelift

Toyota has unveiled the 2015 Camry facelift for the Russian market at the ongoing Moscow International Auto Show. The updates to the new Camry facelift are completely visual and sport changes to the exteriors and interiors, while new features have been added to the options list. The new Camry facelift will also make its way to India in the following months that will replace the outgoing model. The Asian spec Camry is decidedly different from the one for the North American market, which received a facelift earlier this year.

The 2015 Toyota Camry facelift gets a reworked front fascia sporting a restyled chrome grille, while the lower grille is more protruding and encompasses the fog lamps as well in the trapezoidal enclosure. The headlights are narrower much like the new Corolla sporting integrated daytime running lights, while a chrome strip has been added on the hood running between the headlights on top of the grille. For those who complained on how the outgoing Camry looked strikingly similar to a Lexus, the new facelift should surely please you.

The side profile is largely the same but gets new alloy wheels to show off. The rear though gets a reworked bumper giving a leaner look, while the chrome slat on the boot-lid is thinner than the outgoing model. On the inside, the cabin boasts of a new backlight instrument panel with a new 4.2-inch TFT colour display located in the centre. The multi-function steering wheel has also been restyled and the centre console gets a new 6.1 or 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The equipment list on the new Camry includes features like a wireless mobile charger, automatic beams and heated rear seats.

Engine options include the 2.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol motor producing 181 HP of power and the 3.5-litre V6 petrol unit generating 249 HP of power. Toyota has also added a new base variant on the 2015 Camry that uses a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol mill belting out 150 HP, paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The base version of the Camry can do 0-100 km/hr in 10.4 seconds, while the average fuel economy is rated at 13.9 km/l (US drive cycle). The Indian lineup will retain the 2.5-litre engine in its existing specification, while we do not expect the pricing to see much change either.
