Have you ever wondered about a mightier, scarier and meaner Rolls-Royce vehicle? To all those unanswered minds, the British carmaker has brought up the Black Badge lineup. The brand’s new offering was unveiled during this year’s Geneva Motor Show and will be launched in India by the end of this year.

The upgrade comprises a power output boost, an improved cabin and everything else comes in black now, of course. The CEO of Rolls-Royce quoted that “Technically and aesthetically, Black Badge is the alter ego of Rolls-Royce, darker, more assertive, more confident and powerful, and more demanding”. True to its make, there are significant visual alterations. The ‘Spirit Of Ecstasy’ icon now comes in polished black metal with the RR badge, exhaust pipes are blacked out too.

As for the interior, new carbon-fibre trims and dark air vents make it all the more mystic and apt. There are quite a few differences under the hood too. The Black Badge Wraith gets an improvement in torque by about 70 Nm, while the Ghost had its improved by 60 Nm. The latter also got a power boost of 40 HP. The Black Badge models have sporty setups installed on their 8-speed automatic gearboxes creating a broader RPM rev range at lower gears and ease in downshifting.

As far as India is concerned, we are doing well as a growing market for the luxury carmaker. Rolls-Royce is planning to introduce more models in India to cater to the growing needs of the super rich. There has been a significant observation recently, wherein it has been found that customers aged 20-30 years have been most probable suitors for these vehicles. The recently released Rolls-Royce Dawn has been quite an exquisite product on display and stayed true to its uniqueness and exclusivity.
