The 2018 Hyundai Santro details revealed, likely to be launched by the festive season.

Next Generation Hyundai Santro Spied
The 2018 Santro will be larger and wider than the previous Santro

Hyundai recently conducted a customer survey of the 2018 Santro (name yet to be confirmed) where the pre-production car was previewed in front of select customers. The small car is expected to be launched by the festive season this year or earliest by this year-end.

For the exteriors, the 2018 Hyundai Santro gets large headlights with fog lights placed just under it and a bulky set of tail lights. The rear bumper gets black inserts as seen in the Grand i10 and Elite i20. The door handles are of the pull type and the rear doors have a slight kink. The new Santro is expected to get electric ORVMs with integrated side indicators and also a rear wiper.

In terms of interiors, the hatchback is expected to sport a dual-tone beige and black dashboard. There is a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and the power window switches have been placed behind the gear lever. Both the front and rear seats get fixed headrests while the bottle holder for rear passengers is placed between the front seats.

The car displayed to the select customers did not feature an engine start-stop button or keyless entry. There is a flat boot with a minimal loading lip but the rear suspension slightly eats into the cargo space. Also, there seems to be a provision to fit in a CNG kit.

The 2018 Hyundai Santro is expected to come powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine paired with both manual and AMT transmissions. The vehicle will rival the Maruti Celerio and Tata Tiago.
