Toll Plaza Payment

FASTag Annual Pass price rises slightly to Rs. 3075 from April

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a marginal increase in the price of the FASTag Annual Pass. Starting April 1, 2026, the cost of the optional pass will rise from Rs. 3000 to Rs. 3075. The pass is available for non-commercial vehicles equipped with a valid FASTag and can be used across around 1150 toll plazas on national highways and expressways.

Introduced on August 15, 2025, the FASTag Annual Pass allows private vehicle owners to pay a one-time fee instead of recharging their FASTag balance frequently. The pass remains valid for one year or up to 200 toll plaza crossings, depending on whichever limit is reached first.

According to NHAI, more than 56 lakh motorists have opted for the annual pass since its launch. With toll charges at many plazas starting from about Rs 70 and reaching over Rs. 200 at certain locations, the pass is positioned as a convenient option for frequent highway users.

Availability and Activation

Vehicle owners can purchase or renew the FASTag Annual Pass through the official NHAI website or via the Rajmarg Yatra mobile application, which is available on both Android and iOS platforms. The pass does not require users to obtain a new FASTag, as it can be activated on an existing tag after verification.

During activation, authorities verify both the vehicle details and the FASTag linked to it to confirm eligibility. Users must ensure that their FASTag is properly affixed to the vehicle’s windshield and linked with the correct vehicle registration number.

Usage Rules

The FASTag Annual Pass is valid only for the vehicle to which it is registered. Authorities have clarified that the tag is non-transferable and cannot be used on another vehicle. If a tag is used on an unregistered vehicle, it may be deactivated.

The revised pricing will take effect at the beginning of the next financial year and will apply to all eligible private vehicles using the annual pass facility.
